  • What is a bill of lading?

    A bill of lading is a legal document that serves as a receipt for goods that have been shipped. It includes important information such as the origin and destination of the shipment, the date of shipment, the type of goods being shipped, and the name of the shipper and consignee. The bill of lading also indicates who is responsible for paying for the shipment and any insurance that has been purchased. Most importantly, the bill of lading serves as a contract between the shipper and carrier. By signing the bill of lading, the carrier agrees to transport the goods safely and on time to the specified destination.

  • What types of insurance will I be offered?

    There are a few different types of insurance that you may be offered when you sign up for contract moving services from Big League Movers. 


    One type of insurance is called "full value protection." This means that if any of your belongings are damaged during the move, we will reimburse you for the full value of the item. 


    Another type of insurance is called "declared value protection." With this type of insurance, you will need to declare the value of your belongings before the move. If any of your belongings are damaged during the move, we will reimburse you up to the declared value. 


    Finally, we also offer "basic liability protection." This type of insurance protects you in case any of our employees damage your belongings during the move.

  • If there is loss or damage to my goods, how much time do I have to file a claim?

    When you sign up for Big League Movers' contract moving services, you'll be given full coverage insurance for your belongings. This means that if anything is lost or damaged during the move, we will reimburse you for the cost of repairs or replacement. There is a time limit for filing claims, however. You must notify us within 7 days of the date of delivery if you wish to file a claim for loss or damage. We will then investigate the claim and get back to you with a decision within 30 days. If your claim is approved, we will provide you with a reimbursement check within 14 days.
